About
Colleen Carney designs timeless homes with a young, fresh spirit that perfectly reflect her clients’ personalities and lifestyles. She believes that a home has a significant impact on one’s health, well-being and happiness, and that it should serve as a place to nurture, relax, and inspire. With that goal in mind, Colleen works individually and personally with each of her clients to make their lives more fluid and functional, with touches of glamour and luxury. Surrounded by beauty and positive energy, her clients smile when they walk in the door and are proud to welcome family and friends into their homes.
Prior to founding Colleen Carney Interior Design, Colleen honed her design skills by working for the venerable design firm of Bunny Williams Inc. in Manhattan, an Architectural Digest “AD100” firm. While there, she was an integral part of design teams working on numerous homes, including those in New York City, East Hampton, Long Island’s North Shore, Palm Beach and Connecticut. She also assisted in the design of the 2009 Kips Bay Designer Showhouse, which was featured in The New York Times and House Beautiful.
Colleen graduated with an honors degree from the New York School of Interior Design and an honors degree in finance from Fordham University. Prior to her design career, Colleen worked for Goldman Sachs, Inc. for over a decade. Her focus was on client service and project management, both of which are as crucial to a successful design project as its creative and aesthetic aspects.
When not designing personalized spaces, Colleen can be found running the hills of the Hudson Valley, exploring the streets of New York City (with frequent stops at Magnolia Bakery) and spending as much time as possible with her family, friends & pets.
